Payments and terms
How card and bank payments work in DeepEnd, what Stripe and DeepEnd charge, and what happens with refunds, disputes and payouts.
This page explains the money side of taking payments through DeepEnd. The full agreement is in our Terms of Service.
How payments work
If you take payments through DeepEnd, your company gets its own Stripe account, set up and managed inside DeepEnd. You don’t need to sign in to Stripe. Your company’s owner sets it up on the Card and bank payments screen (Invoices, then Payments) by filling in your business and bank details there. When you set up payments, you accept Stripe’s Connected Account Agreement.
Your customers can pay by card or by bank (ACH). DeepEnd never sees card or bank numbers.
Fees
- Stripe charges its own processing fees, which come out of each payment.
- DeepEnd’s fee is 0.35% of each card payment, rounded to the nearest cent. It also comes out of that payment, unless DeepEnd has agreed in writing that your company pays no DeepEnd card fee.
- Bank (ACH) payments have no DeepEnd fee.
For example, on a $100.00 card payment, DeepEnd’s fee is $0.35. On a $100.00 bank payment, there’s no DeepEnd fee.
Refunds
If you refund a payment, DeepEnd gives back its fee on it: all of it for a full refund, or the same share for a partial refund. For example, if you refund half of a card payment, half of DeepEnd’s fee comes back to you.
Disputes
A dispute (also called a chargeback) is when a customer asks their bank to reverse a payment. Disputes are between your company, your customer and their bank. Your company’s owner can answer them on the Disputes tab of Card and bank payments.
If a customer disputes a payment, DeepEnd keeps its fee on it, even if you lose the dispute. Stripe’s dispute fee is Stripe’s, not DeepEnd’s, and follows Stripe’s terms.
Payouts
Stripe sends the money from your payments, after fees, to your company’s bank account. Your company’s owner can see payouts, and change how often they come, on the Payouts tab of Card and bank payments. How soon money arrives follows Stripe’s terms.
Changes to fees
We’ll give at least 30 days’ notice before changing DeepEnd’s card fee.
